Newton System 300
Newton System 300 is a range of products, some unique to John Newton, used to waterproof construction joints and movement joints of retained concrete structures so that they become integrally waterproof without the need of additional waterproofing products, defined within BS8102:2009 as Type B waterproofing.
Waterproofing can be further enhanced by the addition of Type A (Newton System 100 or System 400) or Type C (Newton System 500) waterproofing systems to provide a combined waterproofing approach, recommended by BS8102:2009 when absolute waterproofing security is required. The podium deck of a retained concrete structure would also require waterproofing with one of our System 200 products.
Newton 301 AquaProof (SX301)
Metal Construction Joint Water Bar
Newton 301 AquaProof is a coated metal water bar system used for the sealing of construction joints within retained concrete structures. Newton 301 AquaProof features an adhesive, reactive polymer coating on one of its sides. The coating creates a permanent watertight seal with the surrounding concrete to create a water bar that works immediately.
Typical Applications:
• The waterproofing of construction joints to poured concrete elements of earth retained structures.

Newton 302 InjectionHose (SX302)
Maintainable Injection Water Bar System
Newton 302 InjectionHose is a high performance injectable water bar system used for the sealing of construction joints within retained concrete structures. The system offers many benefits over conventional water bars, especially its ability to grout poorly compacted concrete and by offering a maintainable solution that allows for resealing of the construction joint, post construction.
Typical Applications:
• Post construction grouting and leak sealing of construction joints to poured concrete earth retained structures.
Newton 303 PolyProof (SX303)
High Grade Hydrophilic Water Bar
Newton 303 PolyProof is a very high grade hydrophilic water bar which seals gaps in construction joints by swelling up to 400 times its original size. The water bar is adhered to the face of the first pour of the joint with either Newton 306 SwellMastic or Newton 309 Contact Adhesive. Can also be used as the water bar in settlement or compression joint.
Typical Applications:
• Waterproofing of static construction joints, settlement joints and compression joints to concrete earth retained structures.

Newton 304 PolyProof Inject (SX304)
Maintainable Swelling Injection Water Bar System
Newton 304 PolyProof Inject combines the grouting and resin injection capabilities of Newton 302 InjectionHose with the swelling capabilities of Newton 303 PolyProof. The resulting hybrid provides a very high performance water bar system used for the sealing of construction joints within retained concrete structures.
The system offers many benefits over conventional water bars, especially that in addition swelling when in contact with water, it also has the ability to grout poorly compacted concrete and seal leaking construction joints, post construction. The hydrophilic thermo-plastic elastomer outer casing will seal the joint against leaks by swelling to up to 400 times its original size when in contact with water, sealing the joint fully and reliably.
Typical Applications:
- Primary swelling water bar to seal the joint against leaks through the construction joint.
- Post construction grouting and leak sealing of construction joints to earth retained structures
Newton 305 ActiveJoint (SX305)
Movement Joint Water Bar
Newton 305 ActiveJoint is an advanced hollow chamber profile based on EPDM physical water bar used for the waterproofing of movement joints to earth retained structures. The innovative design of the profile has ribs to the edge surfaces that act as barbs, allowing for easy installation but tremendous grip as the barbs grip the joint when pushed from below. The profile also compresses when driven in to the joint which results in the water bar expanding to fit the joint and expanding further still when subjected to water pressure from below.
The combination of the expansion and the barbs provides a very tight seal to the movement joint.

Newton 306 SwellMastic (SX306)
Swelling Adhesive Mastic
Newton 306 SwellMastic is a high-quality, firm, fast curing, swellable, single-component, polymeric adhesive sealant.
The special composition of Newton 306 SwellMastic makes the sealant start to swell when in contact with water (to about 150% of original size). The sealant has high elasticity and high adherence and it develops a strong adhesive tensile strength immediately after application.
Typical Applications:
- As a swelling adhesive for the installation of Newton 303 PolyProof hydrophilic water bars and Newton 305 ActiveJoint movement water bars
- Sealing of service protrusions through the structure.
- To further waterproof around pipes sealed with Newton 307 PipeSeal

Newton 307 Pipe Seal (SX307)
Pipe Waterbar
Newton 307 PipeSeal is an advanced EPDM pipe collar that provides a physical water bar for the waterproofing of pipes penetrating though earth retained structures and to prevent water ingress around pipes and gullies to flat roofs and decks.
The innovative design of the 70mm diameter collar has ribs to the outer surfaces that act as barbs, gripping into the surrounding concrete and further internal V-ribs that are complex in shape and which fit closely and tightly even to uneven pipe surfaces. The wrap-around groove to both ends of the collar provides for error-free installation and tightening of the chrome-steel clamps

Newton 308 Stopaq (SX308)
Service Duct Waterproofing
Newton 308 Stopaq is a single component highly flexible compound used for the sealing of conduit and pipes through service duct sleeves. The product is incredibly effective at sealing around numerous services within the sleeve, even where significant water ingress exists. The unique compound never cures, remaining permanently flexible, allowing for new services to be simply pushed through the existing repair and resealed.
Newton 308 Stopaq swells by up to 10% when in contact with water and will seal the service duct against water pressure of up to 3m of water pressure and will form a very effective seal against gas and water vapour

Newton 309 Contact Adhesive (SX309)
Adhesive Mastic
Newton 309 ContactAdhesive is a high quality, elastic and versatile gluing and sealing compound. Primarily used for bonding Newton 303 PolyProof hydrophilic waterbars to concrete and steel, it is also suitable for the sealing of joints within buildings and can be used with glass, PS and PU foam panels, wooden building elements, plastic cladding and aluminium profiles.
Typical Applications:
- As an adhesive for the installation of Newton 303 PolyProof hydrophilic water bars
- Sealing of joints within building elements
- Sealing and adhesion of Newton Baseboard to Newton 901 Humidity Primer above concrete or screed floor surfaces
