British Museum, London
Architects praised Newton System 500 as it was installed with minimal disruption and was deemed wholly sympathetic to the listed structure.
Newton System 500 – Cavity Drain Waterproofing used as the basement tanking system in the British Museum. Newton System 500 was installed with Newton 508 Mesh applied to the arches and walls, and Newton Basedrain was installed at the wall/floor junction. The speed and application of Newton System 500 meant that the project from start to finish only took seven weeks.
Royal Courts of Justice, London
Newton System 500 – Cavity Drain Waterproofing proved a quick solution, sympathetic to the historic property. The project was very well received by the end client who was delighted that the guidelines of the British Stand and National Heritage were fully complied with.
The Newton System 500 basement waterproofing system was designed and installed by a Newton Specialist Basement Contractor (NSBC) with Newton 508 Mesh chosen as the waterproofing membrane. The use of Newton 508 Mesh meant that costly surface preparation was not required.
Boat House, Henley on Thames
Newton System 500 – Cavity Drain Waterproofing holds back River Thames in full flood!
Newton System 500 was installed by a Newton Specialist Basement Contractor (NSBC). Newton 508 Mesh was the chosen waterproof membrane for the walls, with Newton 520 installed to the floor and a Newton Basedrain ring around the perimeter. Two Newton Titan Plus pump systems were used. The full System was installed in little over a week, and the major test happened when the River Thames rose against the property to a depth of one metre. The Newton System 500 Waterproofing System coped with the water ingress as designed, and the system is fully successful.

Newton 805 Newlath was the ideal damp proofing solution as minimal surface preparation is required and the system is totally reversible, so it is the ideal solution for Listed properties
Douai Abbey suffered from severe damp penetration. Newton 805 Newlath was applied internally and finished with a dry lining system. After only four weeks the old Abbey had been successfully converted into a complex of luxury apartments completely free from damp penetration problems. Newton 805 Newlath was the ideal solution. This market leading damp proof membrane allows the wall to breathe, thus not trapping any moisture within the structure and allowing the damp walls to dry out completely.
Seaside Cottage, Caithness
Newton 503 Mesh cured aggressive damp penetration problems in this exposed seaside cottage
Talmine Cottage is an old stone cottage which suffered from aggressive damp penetration. The property had no infill of the cavity, so driving rain soaked through the external stone without impediment. Newton 503 Mesh was applied to the external face of the building and an external render was applied to the surface. The finished coat was float finished, ready for decoration. The property is now fully protected from further moisture penetration by the physical barrier formed by the Newton 503 Mesh damp proof membrane. The air gap within the damp proof membrane facilitates the drying out of the damp walls.
Grade II Listed Building, Gibraltar
Newton 805 Newlath provides both a permanent and cost effective solution to the damp problems in this property whilst satisfying the requirements of the conservation authorities.
Lathbury Barracks had been vacant for 12 years and fell into a state of disrepair, suffering from severe rising and penetrating damp. The local government wanted to convert the building to be used as a sports club. Newton 805 Newlath was applied to the internal surfaced of the walls, and the damp proof membrane acts as an impervious barrier which prevents the dampness and associated salts in the walls from affecting the internal finishes. Plasterboard was then applied directly to the meshed surface of the Newton 805 Newlath. Newton 805 Newlath was the ideal solution here as it is deemed reversible which is one of the requirements for modifications to Listed Buildings.
Farm House, East Sussex
Newton 603 flooring membrane provides a cost effective and time efficient flooring solution
To deal with damp floor problems in this property, Newton 603 Flooring Membrane was applied to the top of the damp floor, and a secret nailed oak floor was installed over the top. This enabled the damp floor to completely dry out, and ensured that the moisture sensitive oak would remain dry. The client was able to have a new floor quickly, without worrying about whether their expensive oak floor would be affected by moisture from the slab.
